The 60 second launch spot was the centrepiece of the TV campaign
I storyboarded the concept to establish the essential storytelling elements before moving onto pre-production on set. Once on set I used these storyboards as a guide to design the final sequence.
Walking through the idea on set with key members of the crew (exec producer, dop, show runner) helped us figure out essential stuff like the mechanics and screen direction. This sort of thing only really starts to take shape when you're physically moving around in the space.
This 10 second animated teaser was created to announce the start of the Haven Season 3 campaign on Syfy a couple of weeks prior to the launch promo airing on the channel. The teaser was seeded online and given heavy rotation on air.
A supernatural phenomena, referred to as "the Troubles" by characters in the show, is the source of narrative drive in every episode of the series. For Season 3 I developed the tagline "New Troubles Are Coming" to attract new viewers and give a knowing nod to fans.
I art directed the photo shoot and final key art for series 2, 3 and 4 of Haven.
Part of the pre-launch campaign for Haven Season 3 on Syfy, this spot was a primer for new viewers, getting them up to speed on key events from the first two seasons.
The launch spot enjoyed an extended life in cut down versions that aired well into the season:
30 second version
15 second version
The overwhelming positive response from the Haven fan community prompted the release of this web exclusive extended 'director's cut', just before Season 3 reached the climactic final episode.
Extended 'Director's Cut'
The campaign generated significant anticipation, talkability and a buzz for the new season, exceeding all expectations for the return of the series on Syfy in UK, Spain, Germany, Latin America and Australia.
